  Only called in for a quick(ish) drink. Sat in the beer garden, very quiet and peaceful whilst we were there. The beer was good with a reasonable choice and the wine / spirit selection looked to be quite wide. First visit here but no doubt will return when next in the district.

  We should have guessed when on a bank holiday they had available tables, despite everyone else been packed to the rafters. On a previous visit the food had been less than satisfactory, but we thought we would give them another chance.
  We ordered the smoked duck starter and baked camembert. When it arrived the cheese was clock cold, the waitress took it back to re-heat. 15 mins later it was explained the chef had put another one in but it wasn't cooked yet, since the mains were nearly ready we skipped the other starter.
  The portions of the main were so tiny we were left with a raging hunger and a £55.00 bill. It's the first time ever we called to a burger bar on the way home. We certainly won't be returning.

  We find this while driving around looking for a place to have Sunday lunch and we weren't disappointed! Perfect lamb and vegetables and a good selection of beer. Not cheap but the setting and quality make it worthwhile for a special occasion.

  Top food. Best Sunday roast, other than my aunties. Lovely venue. Unfortunately the staff let it down. The owner (I presume) was the only person that was polite. I hope my next experience is better
